Insurance Providers for boaters at Salmon Bay Marina

Salmon Bay Marina and many other marinas in the northwest require tenants to have their boats insured before they are allowed to moor at the marina. Attached is a list of insurance providers that have been used by our existing tenants. Our experience has been that most of the insurance providers will insure fiberglass and wooden hull boats provided a recent survey by a qualified surveyor is submitted with the application.

Most Yacht policies also have a contamination or pollution rider that can be added to the policy. This rider has nominal cost compared to potential fines that could be levied by the State of Washington Department of Ecology and the Department of Natural Resources in the event of a mishap. When searching for an insurance provider you may want to include a minimum of $500,000 liability, pollution rider, and hull insurance. This will make your life easier when finding a place to moor your boat plus you will be able to sleep at night knowing you are protected.
